Daryl Lavin

Daryl Lavin is a senior at New Canaan High School in New Canaan, Connecticut. Throughout his time in high school, he has been an active member of his community, tutoring math to students from low-income families, volunteering to help children with special needs participate in social and physical activities, and playing in his community band at volunteer events. In addition, he has received honors including placing first in Connecticut and second in the nation for the Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science (TEAMS) Competition. He is also a qualifier for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) and has been named captain of the New Canaan High School math team. He is most interested in the fields of mathematics and science, as well as research surrounding the growing influence of artificial intelligence in today’s society.
